Gate Ball
Gateball was invented
in Japan by Suzuki
Kazunobu in
1947, which was the
result of a modification of the Croquet game originating from the European
continent. Gateball is a sport that relies on accuracy, composure and
intelligence. This sport is a fast, non-contact, highly strategic team game, which can be
played by anyone regardless of age or gender, so it is classified as a barrier-free sport.
Gateball is played on a
rectangular court 20 metres long and 15 metres wide. Each court has three gates
and a goal pole. The game is played by two teams (red and white). Each player has a
numbered ball corresponding to their playing order. The odd-numbered balls are
red and the even-numbered balls are white. Teams score one point
for each ball hit through a gate and two points for hitting the goal pole, in
accordance with the rules. A game of gateball lasts for thirty minutes and the
winner is the team with the most points at the end of the game.
Rektor Cup 2nd 2023 is present in terms of
coaching athletes through the provision of gateball competitions aimed at arousing
the enthusiasm of gateball athletes, especially among students. The main
purpose of holding this tournament is to accommodate interests and talents athletes
and developing gateball sports both at the university level and the others
throughout Indonesia.
